There’s something magical about kicking off a girls’ weekend with good food, great drinks, and ocean air—and Taco Boy on Folly Beach delivers all of that and more. Located at 106 E. Ashley Ave, this beachside taqueria is the perfect blend of laid-back charm and festive energy, ideal for families, friends, and anyone looking to soak up the Folly Beach vibe.
Folly Beach can get packed during the warmer months—it is the beach, after all! But Taco Boy’s half indoor, half outdoor setup makes it feel breezy and welcoming no matter the crowd. We started our evening with drinks, and I couldn’t resist my go-to: the frozen screwdriver with a floater of pineapple-infused tequila. It’s tropical, refreshing, and dangerously delicious. I always convince my friends to take a sip, and without fail, they order one for round two. This night was no exception!
While waiting for our drinks, we dove into the trio of dips—guacamole, queso, and salsa. It’s the ultimate crowd-pleaser and a must for any table. Whether you’re team creamy, spicy, or tangy, this trio covers all the bases.
Taco Boy’s menu centers around—you guessed it—tacos. You can choose a 2- or 3-taco meal, both served with rice and beans. I usually go for the 3-taco option, knowing I’ll have leftovers to enjoy the next day. If you’re craving something different, they also offer quesadillas, burritos, and rice bowls.
And don’t sleep on the sides! Their Mexican street corn is a standout—you can get it on the cob or cut off, depending on your mood
Parents, rejoice—Taco Boy is kid-friendly too! Their kids’ menu includes tacos, chicken or cheese quesadillas, and even a hot dog for the littles who prefer classic comfort food. My son would be thrilled with any of these options.
