A Southern Send-Off at 82 Queen 🍽️🌿

When my family comes to town, we always try to end our visit with a meal that feels special—something that captures the heart of Charleston. This time, we chose 82 Queen, located at (you guessed it!) 82 Queen Street, and it was the perfect way to wrap up our time together.

🌸 Southern Charm in Every Corner

82 Queen is one of those places that feels like a hidden gem, even though it’s right in the heart of downtown. The restaurant is tucked into a historic Charleston home, with cozy indoor seating and a charming, intimate courtyard that’s perfect for outdoor dining. We sat upstairs inside, which gave us a quiet, relaxed space to enjoy our last night together.

🕰️ Know Before You Go

Here’s a quick look at their hours:

  • Brunch: Saturday & Sunday, 10:00 AM–2:00 PM
  • Lunch: Monday–Friday, 11:00 AM–2:00 PM
  • Midday Menu: Daily, 2:00 PM–5:00 PM
  • Dinner: Daily, 5:00 PM–9:30 PM

Reservations are highly recommended, especially if you’re dining with family. The space is cozy, and tables fill up fast!

🦀 Starting with the Classics

We kicked off our meal with two of their signature appetizers:

  • She Crab Soup – rich, creamy, and full of flavor
  • Carolina Crab Cakes – golden, crispy, and packed with fresh crab

These dishes are what 82 Queen is known for, and they absolutely lived up to the hype. Even our adventurous little eaters were reaching for bites!

🍴 Entrees That Hit Every Southern Note

For our main courses, we tried:

  • Braised Beef Short Ribs – tender and savory, with deep, comforting flavors
  • Roasted Portabella Mushroom – a hearty vegetarian option that didn’t skimp on taste
  • Carolina Crab Cakes – yes, again! They were that good
  • Crispy Roasted Duck – rich, flavorful, and beautifully plated

While the kids menu is limited to just chicken fingers and buttered pasta, our kiddos were more than happy to sample from our plates. If your little ones are adventurous eaters, they’ll find plenty to love.

🍰 Sweet Endings

We couldn’t leave without dessert, and wow—what a finale:

  • Bourbon Pecan Pie – warm, gooey, and perfectly Southern
  • Turtle Cheesecake – decadent, creamy, and just the right amount of indulgent

It was the kind of meal that makes you linger a little longer, soaking up every last bite and moment.

If you’re planning a family dinner downtown or just want to treat your crew to a true taste of Charleston, 82 Queen is a must. The food is fabulous, the setting is charming, and it’s a wonderful spot for any occasion.
