A Sister’s Bachelorette Weekend & A Family Feast at Muse 🍷✨

When my sister came to Charleston to give me a belated bachelorette weekend (she couldn’t make it to the original celebration), we knew we wanted to try somewhere new—something special, something downtown, and something with wine. Enter: @charlestonmuse, aka Muse Restaurant & Wine Bar.

We saw “Wine Bar” in the name and instantly knew it was our vibe. Spoiler alert: it absolutely was.

📍 Muse Restaurant & Wine Bar
82 Society Street, Charleston, SC
🍽️ Dinner only: Tuesday & Thursday–Saturday, 5–10 PM

First Impressions: Like Visiting Old Friends in a Historic Home

The first time my sister and I visited, it was just the two of us soaking up the ambiance and sipping wine. But our most recent visit was a full-on family affair—my husband, dad, brother-in-law, and two toddlers in tow. It was their first time at Muse, and it couldn’t have been more welcoming.

We arrived early (because toddlers and timing don’t always mix), and the staff kindly let us wait inside to escape the Charleston heat. The moment we walked in, they greeted us like old friends. They knew exactly who we were and made us feel like we were stepping into someone’s 19th-century home for dinner. That kind of hospitality? Rare and wonderful.

The Food: Mediterranean Magic & Toddler-Approved Plates

Muse specializes in Mediterranean and European cuisine, paired with an impressive wine list. We kicked things off with a few adult beverages and shared plates of mussels and calamari. I’ll be honest—I’m not a calamari person, but the rest of the table devoured it. The mussels, though? Absolutely bursting with flavor. A must-order.

For entrées, we tried:

  • 🥩 Veal Saltimbocca – rich, savory, and beautifully balanced
  • 🍝 Tagliatelle Bolognese – comfort food with a gourmet twist
  • 🐟 Catch of the Day – fresh and flavorful, as expected

For the little ones, we ordered buttered noodles for my niece (simple and satisfying), and my son went rogue and sampled bites from all our plates. Verdict? Every dish was toddler-approved. That’s saying something.

A Note for Fellow Parents 👶

Muse is warm and welcoming to families, but a quick heads-up for those with infants: I didn’t spot a changing table in the restrooms. So if you’re dining with a baby, plan accordingly.

Final Thoughts: Muse Is a Must

Whether you’re celebrating something special or just gathering with loved ones, Muse delivers a cozy, elevated experience that feels like home. We left full, happy, and already planning our next visit.
