Basil – Park Circle

We’ve been loyal fans of Basil Thai since I moved back to Charleston in 2017. Back then, we frequented the Mt. Pleasant location, which was closer to home. But now, Park Circle has become our go-to, and it’s just as charming. With both indoor and outdoor seating, it’s perfect for any kind of evening—whether you’re chasing sunsets or cozying up inside.

📅 Hours:

  • Monday–Thursday: 5–9 PM
  •   Friday & Saturday: 5–9:30 PM
  • Closed Sundays

🛝 Kid-Friendly Perks

If you’ve got little ones in tow, Park Circle has a giant playground right in the center. It’s a great way to let them burn off some energy before or after dinner. Trust me, it’s a lifesaver.

🥢 Our Tried-and-True Order

We’re creatures of habit when it comes to Basil Thai—and for good reason. These dishes hit the spot every single time:

  • Fresh Basil Rolls to start: light, flavorful, and the perfect warm-up.
  • Pad Thai (medium spice) with extra peanuts and limes: the ultimate comfort dish. Our little man even digs in with us—he’s got a surprising tolerance for spice, and I’ll take credit for that!
  • Fried Green Tea Ice Cream to finish: crispy, creamy, and toddler-a  pproved. It’s the kind of dessert that makes you linger just a little longer.

While they don’t offer a dedicated kids menu, there are plenty of noodle and rice dishes that work well for adventurous young eaters.

🍽️ A Spot for Everyone

Whether you’re catching up with friends or bringing the whole family, Basil Thai delivers on both flavor and atmosphere. It’s casual enough for a laid-back night, but still feels special every time we go.

So next time you’re in North Charleston—or just craving some seriously good Thai food—make a stop at Basil Thai in Park Circle. Your taste buds (and your toddler) will thank you.
