đ´ A Chill Cuban Dinner at Gordos â Tallahassee Eats
After a full day of birthday fun at Hangar 38 (bowling, arcade, and all the excitement!), we were ready to wind down with something low key for dinner. My sister knew just the spotâGordos Cuban Cuisine, tucked away at 1460 Market St. in Tallahassee.
Theyâre open Monday through Saturday from 11 AM to 10 PM, and Sundays from 11 AM to 9 PM, making it a great option for both lunch and dinner. The vibe? Relaxed, welcoming, and perfect for a quiet family night.
đš Mojitos & Cuban Classics
I kicked things off with a mojitoâmy go-to when dining at Cuban or Caribbean-style restaurants. Gordos nailed it: not too sweet, plenty of rum, and super refreshing. Just the way I like it!
For dinner, we all branched out and tried different entrees. I finally got to taste the Frita Cubana, a Cuban-style burger made with sausage and topped with crispy potato straws. It was packed with flavor and absolutely lived up to the hype.
Other dishes around the table included:
- Arroz con Pollo â classic and comforting
- Mahi Finger Basket â crispy and fresh
- Sloppy Jose â a Cuban twist on a familiar favorite
Every bite was full of bold, satisfying flavor.
đ Family-Friendly Atmosphere
While we didnât spot a kids menu, our little guy was more than happy to share off our plates. He especially loved the giant fish tank in the dining roomâmesmerized is an understatement! It added a fun visual element to an already cozy space.
Gordos is a great pick when you want delicious food without the fuss. Whether youâre winding down after a busy day or just craving Cuban comfort food, this spot delivers.
